12 and 7 for Napoli, and 10 and 7 for Galatasaray. In 2025/26 he scored a hat-trick in a 3–0 win at Ajax on 5 November 2025,
a brace against Bodø/Glimt and a goal against Liverpool, whom Galatasaray later met again in the round of 16. Osimhen missed the 2026/27 opener at Sporting CP through injury, so his first

Osimhen International Career — Nigeria
Osimhen made his senior Nigeria debut on 10 June 2017 in a 2–0 defeat to South Africa and is now the country’s second all-time top scorer,
behind Rashidi Yekini. He scored four goals as Nigeria won bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where his last appearance was the 0–0 semi-final against
Morocco, which Nigeria lost on penalties. He has not played for Nigeria since, and an injury ruled him out of the opening 2027 AFCON qualifiers in September.
*Cap totals differ between providers; 51 appearances is the figure used here, while some databases list fewer. Goal totals agree at 35.

Transfers & Contract
Osimhen came through the Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos and joined Wolfsburg in January 2017 after his 2015 Under-17 World Cup
success. After loan and permanent spells in Belgium and France, Napoli signed him in July 2020 for a club-record fee. A failed summer 2024 move to Al-Ahli and a stalled Chelsea deal
led to a loan at Galatasaray, which became a permanent €75 million transfer, the highest fee in Turkish football history, on a contract running to June 2029.

Playing Style, Strengths & Tactical Role
Osimhen is a right-footed centre-forward who attacks the space behind defences, wins duels in the air and finishes
with composure from a range of positions. At 185 cm with a strong, wide frame, he can also hold the ball up and bring teammates into play, and he presses actively
when his side lose possession. Nigeria coach Éric Chelle has called him the best striker in the world, and his style is often compared with Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.
| Pace / Runs in Behind | A 2020 Ligue 1 report recorded him with more sprints above 35 km/h than any other player, ahead of Mbappé. |
| Aerial Ability | 17 of his 35 shots in 2026/27 have been headers, and he has won 60% of his aerial duels this season. |
| Finishing | Consistently elite: 26 league goals in both 2022/23 and 2024/25, and 22 in all competitions in 2025/26. Almost every shot comes from inside the box. |
| Link-up Play | Holds the ball up and combines well, though dribbling is not the centrepiece of his game. |
| Work Rate | Presses from the front and contributes to defensive phases more than a typical No. 9. |
Career Development
Osimhen’s path has been far from conventional. Born in Lagos and raised in the Olusosun area, he sold items in traffic as a boy before his ten-goal run at the
2015 Under-17 World Cup brought a move to Wolfsburg. A difficult start in Germany was followed by a rebuilding loan at Charleroi (20 goals), an 18-goal season at Lille and then
Napoli, where he won the 2022/23 Scudetto and finished as Serie A’s top scorer. Despite a skull fracture in 2021 and a dispute with the club in 2024, he rebuilt his career at Galatasaray,
winning back-to-back league titles, a Turkish Cup and a domestic top-scorer award. The next step is staying fit: a string of muscle injuries and a broken arm have cost him matches in each of the last two seasons.
